David Hubbard Wins 10th Drop Knee World Title & Aarya Tabalno is the 2023 Pro Jr. Women's World Champion


David Hubbard made history on August 10th becoming the bodyboarder with the most World Championships ever!

Hubbard emerged victorious in the DROP KNEE Division of the recently concluded Visit Maldives Pro IBC 2023, held in Malé. His second tour win of the year and thus securing the 2023 drop knee world title of the IBC World Tour.  David Hubbard is a remarkable ten-time winner of the drop knee title, Hubbard’s success shined In an epic showdown, Hubbard’s triumph in the final heat solidified his position as this year’s champion in the division. The coveted ‘World Title’ was proudly bestowed upon him during the Visit Maldives Pro award ceremony by First Lady Fazna Ahmed, who personally presented him with the World Champion Trophy.

Overcoming his competition with finesse, David clinched the drop knee division title of the highly anticipated IBC Visit Maldives Pro 2023, an event he had won last year in both divisions. This year He secured his victory by outclassing fellow Hawaiian Sammy Morretino in a nail-biting final. Hubbard’s final heat score stood at an impressive 16.00, while Morretino trailed behind with a score of 13.70.

This victory marked yet another incredible chapter in David Hubbard’s triumphant journey in the sport of bodyboarding! 

Aarya Tabalno dominated the 2023 IBC Pro jr Women's world tour winning all three world tour events to become the first Hawaiian female World Champion bodyboarder.
